Sanaz Starcic - EDITION

Ich freue mich eine besondere Edition aus der Fotoreihe "When two become one" diesen Winter herauszubringen. Die analogen Mittelformat Fotografien, wurden mit einer Yashica Mat in der Wüste des Iran aufgenommen. Die Wüste als ein Ort der lauten Stille, fühlbaren Weite, Intimität und Freiheit. Die Wüste ist in meiner künstlerischen Arbeit und inneren Welt ein wichtiger Ort. Oft sehne ich mich in meinem busy Leben ohne Weite nach einem freien Horizont, dem Nichts, der Stille und einer Oase mit Sand und Salz unter meinen Füßen.

nah und fern, laut und leise: eine Einheit, die scheinbar nur als Sinnessprache der Wüste erfasst werden kann. Nicht als Gegensätze, die sich ergänzen, sondern inkongruente Elemente, die sich ineinander bestärken. Wie kann Stille hörbar, gar sichtbar sein? „When two become one“ beschäftigt sich mit dem Phänomen von Verbindung im nicht sichtbaren Bereich. Wie ein blinder Fleck außerhalb unseres physischen Sehapparates, werden hier Elemente in Verbindung gesetzt, die unerklärlich zu einer Einheit verschmolzen sind.

10% der Einnahmen gehen an das wunderbare Cafe Neustart in Berlin, das seit 16 Jahren mehrmals die Woche seine Türen für Frauen auf der Straße öffnet, ihnen warmes Essen, Kleidung und praktische Hilfe zur Verfügung stellt. Eine Oase auf dem Strich, danke an Gerhard Schönborn auf diesem Weg.

Bis Freitag können die Werke innerhalb von Köln und Samstag noch in Darmstadt geliefert werden. Heute sponti-monti mit der Post und alles andere nach Weihnachten :-)

Die Rahmen sind "Atelierrahmen" der Firma Randolff und werden seit 10 Jahre nicht mehr produziert. Sie sind nicht perfekt, dafür aber echt und doch perfekt, Alu, Glas und Holz und ein wenig alt.

I am happy to publish an edition of the photo series “When two become one”. The analogue medium format photographs were taken with a Yashica Mat in the desert of Iran. The desert as a place of loud silence, palpable vastness, intimacy and freedom. The desert is an important place in my artistic work and inner world. In my busy life without the open space in sight, I often long for a horizon, nothingness, silence and an oasis with sand and salt under my feet.

near and far, loud and silent: a unity that seems only comprehensible in the desert as a language of the senses. Not as oppositions that complement each other, but as incongruent elements where one empowers the other. How can silence become audible, even seeable? “When two become one” deals with the phenomenon of linking invisible spheres. Like a blind sport outside the physical visual apparatus, though still present, elements are now being placed in relation, that are inexplicably melt into unity.

10% of the proceeds go to the wonderful Cafe Neustart in Berlin, which has been opening its doors to women on the streets several times a week for 16 years, providing them with warm food, clothing and practical help. An oasis in the middle of vastness, thanks to Gerhard Schönborn on this path.

The works can be delivered within Cologne until Friday and in Darmstadt on Saturday and today with the mail and everything else after Christmas :-)

The frames are "studio frames" from Randolff and are not beeing produced for 10 years. They are not perfect, but they are real and yet perfect, aluminum, glass and wood and with age.
