LET THE EARTH TALK - PROJEKT

An verlassenen Orten der Natur beginnt die Suche nach dem Ursprung eines Landes. Eine Suche nach Heimat und gleichzeitig auch nach der eigenen Identität. Es ist der Anfang von Wiederherstellung und Versöhnung, es ist ein Zusammentreffen von Altem und Neuem, eine Reise in die Wüste eines Landes, in der alleine seine Stille hörbar ist. Es scheint, als wäre es genau jene Abwesenheit von Menschen, die dort Raum für Neues entstehen lässt, die alte Geschichten wieder aufdeckt und somit Altes und Neues, sowie Vergangenes und Aktuelles, miteinander verbindet. Der Werkzyklus Let the earth talk, bestehend aus skulpturalen, fotografischen und narrativen Elementen, nimmt Bezug auf die Natur und die Landschaft des Iran, insbesondere seine Erde und Wüste. Die Arbeit sucht darin nach Antworten über die Ewigkeit, Familie und den gegenwärtigen Moment. Die Antworten münden in den folgenden Arbeiten: When one become two (Fotografien), Akhar sülar, akhar dürular (Buch), Homeland (Skulptur), Let the earth talk (Film).

HOMELAND - SKULPTUR

Homeland ist eine bodennahe Skulptur in der Form einer runden Scheibe. Ihr Fundament bildet hellbrauner Lehm aus Deutschland, in dessen Oberfläche Mineralien und verschiedene Materialien aus der Erde des Irans eingearbeitet sind. Die Materialien wurden auf den Recherchereisen von der Künstlerin an unterschiedlichen Orten gesammelt und nach Deutschland transportiert.

„Ich habe Erde gesucht. Zunächst suchte ich sehr exzessiv, telefonierte mit iranischen Lehmfirmen, dem deutschen Zoll und Transportunternehmen aus dem Orient bis nach Hamburg auf der Suche nach der richtigen Erde. Ich traf Verbündete, die mir halfen, sie zu transportieren. Die Erde reiste mit mir, sie begleitete mich in meinem Koffer und zog im Iran von Ort zu Ort. Sie wurde ein stilles Stück meines Seins. Die geplanten sechs Tonnen reduzierten sich nach Monaten auf ca. 100g. Ich fand sie, ich verlor sie und erkannte sie schließlich. Sie war nicht dort, wo sie sein sollte, sondern stattdessen überall, wo ich hinsah. Denn sie, die Erde, ist überall. Die Erde meiner Heimat – sie ist in ihren Menschen.“

LET THE EARTH TALK - PROJECT

At desolated places of nature a journey about the origin of a country begins. It is at the same time a search for a feeling of home and a search for identity. It marks the beginning of restoration and reconciliation, it is an encounter between the old and the new, it is a journey through a countrie’s desert, where only its silence is audible. It seems as though this exact absence of people were to be the very thing that creates space for the new, unveils old stories and therefore reunites the old with the new and the presence with the past. The working cycle “Let the earth talk” consists of sculptural, photographic and narrative elements, that take reference to the nature and landscape of Iran, especially its soil and desert. The work seeks for answers about eternity, family and the current moment. The answers are divided into the following works: When one become two (photographs), Akhar sülar, akhar dürular (book), Homeland (scuplture), Let the earth talk (film).

HOMELAND - SCULPTURE

Homeland is a ground leveled sculpture in the shape of a round disc. Its fundament is built from a light brown clay from Germany, in whose surface minerals and different materials from Iranian soil are worked into. The materials were collected on a research journey of the artist and brought back to Germany.

„I have searched for soil. At first I searched very excessively, calling Iranian companies selling clay or talking to German customs and shipping companies from Hamburg to the Orient in search of the right soil. I met allies, that helped me transport it. The soil traveled with me and accompanied me in my suitcase while traveling Iran. It became a silent part of my being. The planned out six tons reduced themselves to a 100g after some months. I found it, then I lost it and then I recognized it again. It was not, were it should have been but instead everywhere I looked. Well, that is because soil itself is everywhere. And the soil of my country – it is to be found in its people.”
