The video work EARTH tells the story of a woman who is buried in the ground. In the beginning we see a close up of her face covered in dirt. In the course of the video she appears on the surface more and more, until she gets up and leaves the hole in the ground in which she was lying before behind. The video runs backwards in slow motion, so the movement of the woman's hand, who is excavating herself, seems as though there is an invisible force freeing her from the soil. The work is about moments in which we as humans lie buried. Sometimes we face the end of our own or of someone elses existence in the middle of life itself, as if we are being buried alive. The work analyzes and impersonates in a poetic approach the force that pulls us out of the earth back into life.
