video installation

Die Videoarbeit HALM bildet eine Frau ab, die mit dem Rücken zum Betrachter inmitten eines Maisfelds steht. Sie ist umringt von vertrockneten Maispflanzen. Das Bild ist in einen einheitlichen Gelbton gefärbt, alle Bewegungen passieren in Zeitlupe. Ein leiser Sound, kaum hörbar, nur ein Hauch von Wind begleitet das Bild. Die Frau und die Halme werden durch ähnliche Bewegungen und die Färbung des Bildes zu einer Einheit. Der warme Farbton scheint die Hitze zu unterstreichen, die durch die vertrockneten Pflanzen und die Kleidung der Frau verstärkt wird. Der Blick wechselt zwischen der zentralen Position der Frau und den vorderen Blättern, die sich vor den Augen des Betrachters bewegen. Die Bewegung der Figur wiederholt sich. Sie hebt ihre Arme gen Himmel und bringt sie wieder runter.

The video work HALM shows a woman in the middle of a corn field. Her back is to the viewer. She is surrounded by dried out corn plants. The image is colored in a homogenous yellow tone. All movements happen in slow motion. A low sound, like a notion of wind almost not hearable, is accompanying the image. The woman and the halms, through mutual movements and the coloring of the image, become a unity. The warm tone seems to underline the heat, that is being stressed by the dried plants and the woman’s skin color. The sight switches between the central position of the woman and the leaves, that are moving directly in front of the viewers eyes. The movement of the figure repeats itself constantly. She lifts her hands towards the sky and takes them down again.
